Rules of Degree

১।শুধুমাএ As… so, As…as যুক্ত Positive Degree কে Comparative Degree করতে হলে Affirmative Sentence কে Negative Sentence আর Negative Sentence কে Affirmative Sentence এ রুপান্তরিত করতে হয় ।এর Superlative হয় না ।

Example:

Positive Degree: He is as tall as Rahim.

Comparative Degree: Rahim is not taller than he.

২।No other যুক্ত Positive Degree কে Comparative Degree করতে হলে than any other,than all other দ্বারা করতে হয়।এই ধরনের বাক্যকে Superlative Degree করতে হলে the + adjective এর Superlative রূপ দিয়ে করতে হয়।

Example:

Positive Degree: No other boy in the class is as brilliant as he.

Comparative Degree: He is more brilliant than any other boy in the class.

Superlative Degree: He is the most brilliant boy in the class.

NB. Than any other হয় যখন Noun Singular থাকে। Than all other হয় যখন Noun Plural থাকে।

৩।Very few যুক্ত Positive Degree কে Comparative Degree করতে হলে than most other দিয়ে করতে হয় ।এ ধরনের বাক্যকে Superlative Degree করতে হলে One of the + adjective এর Superlative রূপ দিয়ে করতে হয়।

Example:

Positive Degree: Very few towns in India are as big as Kolkata.

Comparative Degree: Kolkata is bigger than most other towns in India.

Superlative Degree: Kolkata is one of the biggest towns in India.
